The best thing I have learned (even if I have to eat my words) is that there are some really great writers out there willing to lend their skills and talents to others. This writing to publishing thing is so daunting at times for a novice, that sometimes I feel like I rowed my boat in the wrong direction and ended at a deserted tropical isle rather than finding a way to the party. So it's really a thrill for me to discover there are other experienced and talented writers out there willing to throw a lifeline to the utterly confused amongst us. Thank you to all who are offering their assistance with the contest. I hope you realize just how appreciative we are and I, for one, admire every one of the judges for taking time to help other writers. Regardless of how far I make it here, I have learned a little, met some others along the way and have had a little hope restored. Thank you all.

Love Beyond the Boundaries 250 word excerpt
After the past year, Chuck didn’t think much more could go wrong in his life. Hard to believe only a few years ago he thought he had the world in his hand. His shop was thriving, the services he offered expanding. A beautiful house in a nice neighborhood, a gorgeous wife and two children, a boy and girl, completed all the aspirations he had for his life.
The picture perfect life began to falter a couple of years ago. Before their fifth anniversary, Chuck began to suspect the marriage was more of a sham on his wife’s part. He loved his children, though, and for them, he was willing to do almost anything to make it work.
His first glimpse of Elaine, back in 1965, astounded him. Her blond hair was stacked in a woven beehive. The mini-skirts, which just started a scandalous craze, looked fabulous topping her long shapely legs. At his shop, when she stepped out of her Mustang, one of the first muscle cars Ford built, her allure entrapped him.
Most of the desire was young, raging male hormones and an inflated ego. Conscious of his image, he kept his body well muscled and trim while letting his hair grow to his shoulders in a small show of rebellion. At only twenty-two, to be the owner of such a successful car repair shop was also unusual. He had the money to entertain himself and the women he dated, giving him an edge over the competition.
